Explanation

Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong and Ze Lan: Activating blood and dissipating stasis.

Dan Pi, Sheng Di and Bai Shao: Cooling blood and harmonizing yin, clearing heat.

Qin Jiao: Dispelling wind-damp, unblocking collaterals to alleviate pain, reducing deficiency heat and clearing damp-heat.

Du Zhong: Tonifying the liver and kidney, strengthening tendons and bones.

Pu Huang Tan and Zong Lv Tan: Cooling blood to stop bleeding.
