The drug is the dried root or whole herb of Cotoneaster horizontalis Decne. (Family Rosaceae), growing in scrubs or on rocky slopes, and distributed in Shaanxi, Gansu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Sichuan and Yunnan of China.
